Canon announces a remote control for interchangeable lens cameras

Canon, a company who has been pioneering photography and imaging solutions since 1937, has taken a big step further in the interchangeable-lens camera market with the announcement of their new remote control device for stills photography, providing professional users with remote operation for Canon’s interchangeable-lens cameras. While the remote solution can be used for all sorts of still photography, Canon has time this new offering at the sport journalists. Capturing those fast shots are not always easy, but with a remote control, Canon wants to give the photographers an edge.

Aimed at stills photographers the Remote Control Pan-Tilt System and Camera Remote Application can control multiple Remote Control Pan-Tilt Systems and cameras from a single PC. This enables a single operator to control multiple cameras, contributing to efficient photography workflows –
particularly useful when shooting sports.

Canon has also committed to be fully into further developing this device and making it a lot more flexible and versatile in its user base. They are mainly looking at the Tv and Movie production, eCommerce and Product photography markets.

The development of the system highlights Canon’s commitment to photographers, making new forms of imaging possible.
