Commvault Set to take data protection of smart cities to the future at GITEX 2019

Data Protection, Analytics, and storage for smart cities development is set to receive a significant upgrade at the GITEX 2019 event where Commvault, a world-renowned leader in data backup and recovery, will showcase a vision of what they believe can be the driving force for data protection and development of smart cities in the area.

On the 7th of October, 2019, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Global Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Vice President of Commvault, Brian Brockway will take part in a panel discussion on the transformation of cities in the fourth industrial revolution at GITEX. The session will assess how AI is expected to contribute in adding more than $50 trillion to the world economy by 2050.

A major use case of this kind of implementation is Emirates Steel, who have recently deployed Commvault HyperScale to support its digitalization ambitions and safeguard its manufacturing operations.

When asked about why this offering was so important, Brockway commented that –

Data protection, analytics and back up will continue to play key roles in the development of smart cities both in the Middle East region and across the globe. Commvault is demonstrating new solutions both on premise and on cloud at this year’s GITEX, one of the most important regional technology events in the MENA region. We are looking forward to showcasing case studies and success stories of our customers that have implemented these solutions, as a result creating operational efficiencies and better use of the data available to them. GITEX will be an ideal opportunity to learn from key stakeholders in the industry and share best practices and expertise with both partners and customers.

Aside from this, Commvault has also announced a new global partner program, through which, they seeks to make it easy for foreign companies to do business with them.
