Jabra, a brand well known for its Bluetooth headsets has now moved on to manufacturing wireless speakers and headphones. Their latest addition of this segment is our product review of the day – Jabra Rox Wireless. This new wireless headphone is equipped with so many features and is here to give tough competition to other major branded products in the same range. The big question here is whether Jabra Rox Wireless can live up to its price tag and other expectations.
Let’s check it out.
Design and Build
The design of the Jabra Rox Wireless is quite evolutionary. It’s packed very neatly in a transparent, acrylic case that shows off the ear buds in an elegant way. Alongside, there are also a lot of different accessories within the package included in order to offer different customization to the wireless headphone so it can fit any ears. There are four different set of ear tips, including the ones already fitted on the device. Also included are “Earwings” in three different sizes that are aimed to keep the ear buds tucked in to the ear during any extensive physical activity such as jogging or cycling. There’s also a microUSB charger and a sleek pouch to carry the headphones.
In each of the ear bud chamber, there’s a rubber lining on the inside that helps the ear buds both dust and water repellent. Both the Earwings, the cord and the in-line remote are also durable and both dust and water repellent.
The ear tips of this headphones or better mention it as ColorCore EarGels named by Jabra themselves, are quite smooth and gives a comfortable experience while you listen music from it.
Features
Besides the design and the form factor, the Jabra Rox Wireless headphones are packed with exciting utilitarian features. The in-line remote offers controls to up/low music’s volume, change tracks as well as check the battery level. Most importantly, this headphones are equipped with an NFC chip that helps it connect with any compatible smartphone or device.
The most breathtaking feature and technology devised by Jabra with its Jabra Rox wireless is the transition to sleep mode. Simply clip the two speakers together and with the help of the power-saving magnets installed at the back of the chambers, the device will go into sleep mode. It’s an exciting feature considering the fact that it won’t fall of your neck when attached together and you won’t need to power off them manually to turn them off. Above all, once you unclip, they are automatically paired up with your smartphone and ready to use again.
Battery Life
With a battery life of 5 hours continuous music playback above 50 percent volume levels, the Jabra Rox Wireless will disappoint many geeks but then it was almost expect given the size of the earphones. Still, considering the features packed in the device, the Jabra Rox Wireless is ideal for daily commute to work and back home. Also this is the only battle it loses with its rival because the Plantronic BackBeat Go also includes a carry pouch that doubles up as a battery pack.
Conclusion
We have some mixed reviews on Jabra Rox Wireless headphones. Although it has all the great features required in a wireless headphone along with some extras, the Jabra Rox Wireless disappoints us with its battery life. If your only requirement of the product is while commuting for work and if you could afford it, then Jabra Rox Wireless is a good buy as it offers great clear audio output. It also offers some great utilitarian features like Dolby and NFC support.
